High School English Teacher/Tutor
Job description
- Work with students one-on-one and in small groups
- Use the lesson plans and materials provided
- Teach literary analysis
- Teach literary essay structure/research essay structure/opinion essay structure
- Provide one-on-one tutoring session to help students improve grades
- Help students outline and plan essays and other writing projects
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and needs
- Revise student work
- Track progress for each student
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding student progress
- Use materials provided by the supervisor to conduct lessons
- Provide clear grammar lessons using the materials provided
- Monitor student progress at school by noting their grades in their file
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of the literature covered in high school/ common essay topics
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for writing and a love of literature
- Possess excellent grammar and writing skills,
- Teaching experience in group and one-on-one setting
- Experience teaching in a Canadian high school is an asset
- Knowledge of the units taught in high school
- Knowledge of the rubrics and requirements
- Experience using Google Docs and Google Classroom
- Experience working in a profit driven educational organization is an asset

Elementary School English Teacher/Tutor (Grades 2-8)

Job Description
- Teach reading and spelling using our materials
- Teach basic writing techniques, vocabulary, sentence structure, paragraph writing using materials provided
- Work with small groups and one on one
- Monitor student improvement using our progress tracking forms
- Assign and check homework
- Speak with parents to discuss student progress
- Reward students for hard work and keep track of their rewards points
- Provide one-on-one tutoring session to help students improve grades
- Revise student work
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding student progress
Qualifications
- Experience using Google Docs and Google Classroom
