It breaks my heart to see smart, hardworking students struggle over writing projects at school, unable to put forward great ideas, knowledge, and insight. It’s upsetting for students to lose marks over a misplaced apostrophe or bad grammar, not because they forgot, but because they were never taught the rules. They get discouraged, not knowing how to start an essay or conclude a report. And since written assignments are common in all subjects, and good writing skills are an integral part of academic success, it is no wonder so many parents and students are frustrated with the lack of good instruction at school.
