University Supplementary Applications by Maria Gurevich.

Some of the best universities in the world, including a few in Ontario, require supplementary essays and other materials as part of the application in addition to high school grades. That’s a comforting thought. You are so much more than the percentages on your report cards. It’s nice to know that a university values your experiences, passions, out of school achievements, contributions to your community and aspirations.

Between the months of September and February, dozens of students flock to our office in a panic not knowing what to write in their personal statement, how to describe a challenge they had overcome, or how to approach the more creative questions universities like McMaster are famous for.
Every winter, during this stressful time, we make ourselves available to our grade 12 students, most of whom have been with us since elementary school. We guide them through writing these essays, and every spring they make us proud sharing their acceptance letters.

Although each response is a unique reflection of the applicant’s personality, there are some universal tips that can benefit everyone. That’s why this year we have decided to share our tips and secrets in a series of workshops starting with a free information session on October 18th.

This event will be followed by two workshops where our team will help you develop and write the most impressive applications to the universities of your choice.

Join us on zoom on Sunday, October 25 at 8:00 pm. Please visit our Facebook event for more details, or contact us directly to have the link sent to you.
